Accessing interview settings

Each interview has a dedicated Settings tab with granular controls. To access it:

  1. Open the interview from your Interviews list.

  2. Click the Settings tab.

The Settings tab includes a Save as template button to save the current configuration as a reusable template.

Additional instructions for AI agent

At the top of the Settings tab, you can add extra instructions that guide how the AI conducts the interview. These are separate from the per-question evaluation criteria and apply to the overall interview behavior.

Interview duration

Two duration settings control the interview length:

  • Interview duration — The expected length in minutes, shown to candidates on the overview page. Enter a value in the Duration (minutes) field.

  • Maximum interview duration — An upper bound in minutes. Enter a value in the Max duration (minutes) field.

Limiting candidate attempts

The Limit to one interview attempt toggle controls whether candidates can retake the interview:

  • On — The candidate gets exactly one attempt. After completing (or if interrupted), they cannot retake it.

  • Off — Candidates can retake the interview if needed.

When a candidate has already used their attempt, they see a message that they've already completed the interview.

Candidate info collection

By default, TalentSprout collects the candidate's name and email before the interview. You can change this:

  • Skip candidate info collection — Toggle on to skip the name and email form entirely. Use this when identifying candidates via external user ID in the URL.

Sharing results with candidates

The Share interview feedback with candidates toggle controls whether candidates can view their own scorecard after completing the interview:

  • On — Candidates see their scores and AI-generated insights on the completion screen.

  • Off — Candidates see only a thank-you message after completing.

Custom redirect URL

Toggle on Custom redirect URL and enter a URL to redirect candidates to a specific page after they complete the interview. Useful for directing candidates to your careers page, a thank-you page, or a follow-up survey.

Auto-triage candidates

Auto-triage automatically categorizes candidates based on their overall score:

  1. In the Settings tab, toggle on Auto-triage candidates.

  2. Set the thresholds:

    • Shortlist rule — Candidates with an overall score your threshold are automatically set to "Shortlisted." Default: 80.

    • Reject rule — Candidates with an overall score your threshold are automatically set to "Rejected." Default: 40.

  3. Candidates scoring between the thresholds remain as "Interviewed" for manual review.

Click Save to apply the thresholds. You can also click Apply to existing candidates to retroactively triage candidates who have already completed the interview.

Email notifications

Configure who gets notified when candidates complete interviews:

  • Notify when interview is completed — Send an email when any candidate finishes.

  • Notify for high-scoring candidates (80+) — Send an email only for candidates scoring 80 or above.

Add team member email addresses as recipients for each notification type.

Webhook URL

Set a webhook URL specific to this interview. When a candidate completes an interview, TalentSprout sends a POST request to this URL with the results. This overrides the organization-level webhook if set.

Enter the URL (HTTPS required) and click Save changes.

For full webhook setup details, see the "Setting up webhooks" article in the Integrations collection.

Welcome video

The Welcome video setting controls an optional video shown to candidates on the interview overview screen before they start:

  • Toggle the setting to show or hide the welcome video.

  • Upload a video in MP4 or WebM format, up to 50 MB.

  • You can use a different video from your organization default, or reset to the organization's welcome video.

Branding overrides

Two separate sections let you override your organization's default branding for this specific interview:

  • Override company branding — Use custom background and accent colors instead of your organization defaults. When enabled, click Edit style to set the colors.

  • Override share links branding — Override the organization's Brand Share Links setting. When enabled, you can toggle Brand share links (show company logo on share pages) and Use interview logo (use this interview's logo instead of the organization logo).

Share link privacy

The Share link privacy section controls what candidate information is visible on shared scorecard pages. Click Edit settings to configure:

  • Candidate name display — Choose how names appear: Full name, First name only, or Anonymous.

  • Show candidate email — Toggle whether the email address is visible.

  • Show candidate phone number — Toggle whether the phone number is visible.

  • Show candidate resume — Toggle whether the resume document is accessible.

These settings apply to all share links and shortlists for this interview.

Other widget customizations

Click Edit settings on the Other widget customizations card to configure how the interview widget behaves for candidates:

  • Skip overview step — Candidates bypass the overview page and go directly to the next step.

  • Show processing evaluation step — Shows a loading screen while the evaluation is generated after the interview ends.

  • Post-interview Done button — Controls what happens after the interview:

    • Advance to feedback (default) — Proceed to the feedback step.

    • Request close (emit event) — Emits a talentsprout:request_close event for embedded/WebView integrations.

    • Hidden — Only shows a "Start Over" option on the post-interview screen.
