Choosing a voice
TalentSprout offers multiple AI voice options for your interviewer. Each voice has a distinct character and tone.
To select a voice during interview creation:
On the Customize your interviewer step, browse the available voices under Select AI voice.
Click the play button next to any voice to hear a sample.
Select the voice you want to use.
To change the voice after creation, go to the Interview tab on the interview detail page, find the Interview Flow card, and click Edit interview.
The default voice is "Alloy." We recommend previewing a few options to find the best fit for your company's style.
Selecting languages
TalentSprout supports over 50 languages for AI interviews. The AI interviewer conducts the entire conversation — questions, follow-ups, and wrap-up — in the selected language.
To configure languages during creation:
On the Customize your interviewer step, find Select languages.
Choose one or more languages. If you select multiple, the candidate can pick their preferred language before the interview starts.
To change languages after creation, click Edit interview on the Interview tab.
Adjusting interviewer personality
On the Interview tab of an existing interview, under the AI Interviewer Personality section, you can fine-tune how the AI conducts the conversation using three sliders:
Interview Style — Ranges across Direct, Conversational, Friendly, and Supportive. A direct style stays focused and efficient; a supportive style is more encouraging and empathetic.
Company Enthusiasm — Ranges across Objective, Informative, Engaging, and Compelling. Controls how energetically the interviewer presents your company and role.
Interview Pacing — Ranges across Thoughtful, Steady, Dynamic, and Brisk. Adjusts how quickly the interviewer moves between questions.
These sliders let you match the interviewer style to your company culture and the role you're hiring for. Each slider shows a description of the current setting as you adjust it.
Adding custom interview scripts
Under the Custom Interview Scripts section on the Interview tab, you can customize what the AI says at the beginning and end of each interview:
Opening Message — A personalized opening message the AI delivers before the first question. Use this to welcome the candidate, introduce the company, or set expectations. You can use
{name}and{company}as placeholders.Closing Message — A closing message delivered after the last question. Use this for next steps, thank-you messaging, or timeline expectations.
Each field supports up to 5,000 characters and has its own Save button.
Setting the interview duration
The interview duration controls the expected length shown to candidates and used for scheduling.
To configure duration after creation:
Open the interview and go to the Settings tab.
Find Interview duration and enter the time in minutes using the Duration (minutes) field.
Optionally configure Maximum interview duration using the Max duration (minutes) field as an upper bound.
Click Save.
The duration is displayed to candidates on the interview overview page so they know how much time to set aside.
Requiring video
By default, TalentSprout requires candidates to enable their camera. If you prefer audio-only interviews:
During creation, toggle off Require video for this interview on the Customize your interviewer step.
Candidates will only need to grant microphone permissions.
To change this after creation, click Edit interview on the Interview tab.
Audio-only interviews can increase completion rates for roles where visual presence isn't important for evaluation.
