TalentSprout for Zoho Recruit — Integration Guide

A complete step-by-step guide to installing, connecting, configuring, and using the TalentSprout AI Interview integration with Zoho Recruit.

Overview

TalentSprout's integration with Zoho Recruit lets you automate candidate screening with AI-powered interviews and sync the results directly back into Zoho Recruit. Once connected, TalentSprout automatically:

  • Creates a candidate record in Zoho Recruit if one doesn't already exist (optional).

  • Associates the candidate with the linked job opening (optional).

  • Adds a detailed note to the candidate record with scores, a summary, strengths, concerns, and a direct link to the full interview report.

This guide walks you through connecting, configuring, and using the integration step by step.

Requirements

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A Zoho Recruit account (any edition: Free, Standard, Professional, or Enterprise).

  • Permissions in Zoho Recruit to authorize third-party applications.

  • An active TalentSprout account with an organization.

Step 1: Connect Zoho Recruit

  1. In TalentSprout, go to Integrations in the left sidebar.

  2. Find the Zoho Recruit card and click Connect.

  3. In the connection modal, click Connect with Zoho.

  4. You'll be redirected to Zoho's login page. Sign in with your Zoho account.

  5. Authorize TalentSprout to access your Zoho Recruit data.

  6. After authorization, you'll be redirected back to TalentSprout's integrations page.

  7. A green Connected badge confirms the connection is active.

Tip: You can sign in to Zoho using email/password, Google Sign-in, or any other method supported by Zoho. The integration works the same regardless of your sign-in method.

Multi-region support

TalentSprout supports all Zoho data center regions: United States (.com), Europe (.eu), India (.in), Australia (.com.au), China (.com.cn), Japan (.jp), Canada (.ca), Saudi Arabia (.sa), and United Kingdom (.uk). Your region is detected automatically during the OAuth flow — no manual configuration is needed.

Step 2: Configure sync settings

After connecting Zoho Recruit, a Sync settings section appears on the Integrations page. There are three toggles you can configure:

Sync interview results (default: On)

When enabled, TalentSprout creates a note on the candidate's record in Zoho Recruit after each completed interview. The note includes:

  • Interview title (e.g., "TalentSprout Interview — Senior Developer")

  • Overall score out of 100

  • Category scores — Communication, Domain Expertise, Problem Solving, Cultural Fit, and Professionalism

  • AI-generated summary — A concise paragraph about the candidate's performance

  • Strengths — Specific positive qualities identified during the interview

  • Concerns — Areas where the candidate fell short

  • Link to full report — A direct URL to the candidate's full scorecard in TalentSprout

Notes are created in the Candidates module in Zoho Recruit, attached directly to the candidate record. Turn this off if you only want to use TalentSprout for syncing candidate records without adding evaluation notes.

Auto-create candidates (default: On)

When enabled, if a candidate who completed an interview doesn't already exist in Zoho Recruit (matched by email address), TalentSprout automatically creates a new candidate record with the candidate's name, email, and phone number. Turn this off if you only want to sync notes to candidates who are already in Zoho Recruit.

Auto-associate with job openings (default: On)

When enabled, TalentSprout associates the candidate with the corresponding job opening in Zoho Recruit. This requires linking a TalentSprout interview to a Zoho job (see Step 3 below).

Step 3: Link interviews to Zoho job openings

To enable job association, link a TalentSprout interview to a specific Zoho Recruit job opening:

  1. Open the interview in TalentSprout.

  2. Go to the Settings tab.

  3. Find the ATS Job Linking section.

  4. Select the job opening from the dropdown (your Zoho Recruit jobs are listed here automatically).

  5. Click Save link.

When a candidate completes this interview, TalentSprout will associate them with the selected Zoho job opening.

Tip: If no job is linked, the sync still runs — candidate records and notes are created, but the job association step is skipped. You can click Unlink to remove an existing job link at any time.

How the settings work together

Here's how the three sync settings combine:

  • All three on, job linked: Notes synced, candidate created if not found, job associated.

  • All three on, no job linked: Notes synced, candidate created if not found, job association skipped.

  • Sync on, auto-create off, auto-associate on: Notes synced only if the candidate already exists in Zoho. Job associated if the candidate exists.

  • Sync off: No sync occurs at all.

For a fully automated workflow, leave all three toggles on and link each interview to its corresponding Zoho job.

Multiple interview submissions

If a candidate takes the interview multiple times (when max attempts is greater than 1), a new note is created in Zoho Recruit for each completed submission. This gives you a complete history of all attempts.

Disconnecting the integration

If you need to disconnect Zoho Recruit:

  1. Go to Integrations in the left sidebar.

  2. Click Disconnect on the Zoho Recruit card.

  3. In the confirmation dialog, click Disconnect to confirm.

Note: Disconnecting stops future syncing but does not delete data already synced to Zoho Recruit.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

"Unauthorized" error after connecting

This can happen if your TalentSprout login URL doesn't match the configured app URL (e.g., using www.talentsprout.ai vs. talentsprout.ai). Try accessing TalentSprout from the same domain you used during the OAuth flow.

Token refresh issues

TalentSprout automatically refreshes your Zoho access token. If the connection stops working, try disconnecting and reconnecting. This regenerates the authentication tokens.

My candidates aren't syncing

Ensure that:

  • The integration is connected (green badge visible on the Integrations page).

  • The Sync interview results toggle is enabled in your Zoho sync settings.

  • The interview was completed after the integration was connected. The sync only runs on new completions.

Which Zoho Recruit editions are supported?

All editions — Free, Standard, Professional, and Enterprise.

Do I need to configure anything in Zoho Recruit?

No. TalentSprout handles everything through the API. You don't need to create custom fields, modules, or workflow rules in Zoho Recruit. Just connect and configure your sync preferences in TalentSprout.

What data is sent to Zoho Recruit?

Candidate name, email, and phone number (when auto-creating candidates), plus a detailed interview note with scores, summary, strengths, concerns, and a link to the full report. No other data from your TalentSprout account is sent to Zoho.
