Accessing the recording

Every completed interview is recorded (audio, or audio and video if the camera was required). To access a recording:

  1. Open the candidate detail page from the Candidates tab on an interview, or from the global Candidates page.

  2. The Interview Playback card appears near the top of the page.

  3. Click the play button to start the recording.

The player supports the following controls: play/pause, skip back 10 seconds, skip forward 10 seconds, restart, and adjustable playback speed (0.75x to 2x).

Video vs. audio recordings

  • If Require video for this interview was enabled when creating the interview, the recording includes both video and audio. Click Watch video to expand the candidate's camera feed.

  • If video was not required, the recording is audio-only, displayed with a waveform visualization.

Downloading recordings

Use the menu icon in the top-right corner of the Interview Playback card to access download options:

  • Download video (or Download recording for audio-only interviews)

  • Download transcript β€” Downloads a text file of the full conversation.

Reading the transcript

Click Show transcript below the player to expand the full conversation transcript:

  • Each message is labeled with the speaker: Interviewer for the AI and the candidate's name for their responses.

  • Timestamps appear next to each message. Click a timestamp to jump to that point in the recording.

  • Use the Jump to question menu to quickly navigate to specific interviewer questions (Q1, Q2, etc.).

  • A Follow playback button appears during playback so the transcript auto-scrolls to match the current position.

Tip: Click any timestamp in the transcript to jump directly to that moment in the recording β€” great for reviewing specific answers.

Recordings on share pages

When you share a candidate's results via a share link, the recording and transcript are available to the recipient (e.g., a hiring manager).

⚠️

Note: Share page recordings use signed URLs that expire after 24 hours. A new signed URL is generated automatically each time the page is loaded, so the recipient can always access the recording by refreshing the page. No data is lost.

Tips for reviewing recordings

  • Use the transcript to skim β€” Read through the transcript first to identify interesting moments, then watch those sections in the recording.

  • Adjust playback speed β€” Use 1.5x or 2x speed to review recordings faster when you have many candidates.

  • Video adds context β€” For roles where communication style and presence matter, video recordings provide valuable non-verbal information that the scorecard alone doesn't capture.
